Siberian crane in Iran may find Belgium traveling companion

Here is a heartwarming story about an extremely rare Siberian crane in Iran finding a possible traveling companion from Belgium.  

According to a Thursday media report, a crane was transferred by plane from Belgium to Iran to meet her traveling companion in the Iranian province of Mazandarn.

The female crane is hoped to create a bond with the male crane, named Omid (hope) in Iran.  

This could boost Iran's corridor for migratory birds that come from Siberia to Iran.  

Omid is the only Siberian crane migrating to northern Iran in winter. He has lost his mate and comes back to Iran all alone. If things go well, his new mate could be a great change for him and Iran's nature.
